The Andy Hutchings Web Site
A quite stunning site, with a huge amount of information. The bulk of it concerns Newcastle
airport (location, timetables, news, movements, frequencies, based aircraft etc., and some
excellent and highly detailed viewing information, with representative photos), but it also
incorporates the official Web Site of Air North, the local aviation enthusiast's society, with
various news and articles reproduced from the magazine. Also has some info about Teeside and
Carlisle, and details of just about every other aviation-related place (civil and military,
helipads, museums etc.) in the area, most with very useful viewing details. Finally there's a
large photo gallery (featuring both Newcastle and other places), and a selection of trip reports
made by the author. All this in a great design with very simple navigation. Hope you've got lots
of time!
Matthew's Aviation Site
Mainly devoted to Newcastle Airport, with some quite reasonable and useful info - news, recent
movements, general information about the airport etc. Some pictures, but the quality could be a
LOT better. The whole thing is ruined by a horrendously confusing layout, however, and
please, get rid of all those 'blinking/flashing' bits - even in moderation they are
most irritating thing you can put on a webpage.
Included as part of the North East Aviation Page which seems to serve no real purpose except to
confuse you even more.
AvInfo
Fairly brief viewing information for Newcastle contained on the 'UK Airport Guide' page.
The main site is mainly concerned with Birmingham airport, with other sections including a very
comprehensive collection of links to worldwide airline and airport homepages, a huge listing of
IATA/ICAO airline/airport codes (unfortunately searchable only by code and not by name), a large
photo gallery (mostly taken at Birmingham, Manchester or Heathrow, and generally fairly good
quality). Very useful resource.
