Dharamsala, in the foothills of the Indian Himalaya, is best known for being the home of the
Dalai Lama and the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile, and is an essential visit for anyone
interested in this theme. Somewhat surprisingly there is also an aircraft on display here.
Although called the Martyr's Memorial, there's not much here except this preserved Gnat and a
fairly pleasant wooded park. It's located in the southern part of the town, on the main road to
Delhi (unfortunately there are two roads that lead in this direction and I can't now remember
which one it is, but if you walk for more than about 15 minutes from the fork in the road without
seeing it, you're on the wrong one!).
