The Harbin Z-5 first flew in December 1958, and production continued until 1980. Like the Mi-4 from which it was developed, it was built in both military and civil versions. Although in Air Force colours, this particular machine is the basic civil version, as can be seen from the square windows, and was probably used for VIP flights or similar.
