|ex-PLA Air Force Nanchang J-12 01
(China Aviation Museum, Datangshan - 31 January 2002)
The Nanchang J-12 was an ultra-lightweight fighter developed in the 1970s as a possible replacement for the J-6 (MiG-19). Although exhibiting quite impressive performance in many respects, the project was cancelled in 1978 and all further development ceased. Two of the six prototypes built are preserved at the China Aviation Museum, the other being in the tunnel.
